NEW YEAR. NEW LOOK. NEW VIBE

For 2026 C5 is giving our students from Kindergarten - year 12 the opportunity to wear their own chosen dance wear to class. To allow students to wear what makes them feel comfortable and to express their own personality. We will have boundaries and requirements so that our classes still look like a cohesive team and for safety.
RAD Ballet will still have an offical uniform for class.

This freedom is only for your fitted dance wear, any outer wear must be the offical C5 T-shirt, Jumper or Track Pants, please see below for more details.

Uniform requirements:
Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Tap & Acro

  • All Items must be all black, a little bit of white detail is okay or a small white logo. No other colours.

  • All clothing must be fitted to the body for safe dance practice.

  • No inappropriate clothing.

  • No bikini tops.

  • Only C5 offical outerwear can be worn i.e T-shirt, Jumper & Tracksuit. As of 2026 only the new 2025 C5 T-shirt can be worn to class.

  • You cannot wear dance pants or dance sweat pants to acrobatics.

  • For Musical Theatre & Hip Hop we recommend that you wear your fitted dance wear and then for Hip Hop you put your C5 T-shirt and track pants over the top for the loose feel and to help get into the style. New Track suit coming Term 2.

Dance wear options:

  • Leotard

  • Bike tights/shorts

  • Leggings

  • Bodysuit

  • Fitted dance or active wear single

  • Crop top

  • Dance pants

  • Dance sweat pants/shorts (not track pants)

  • Dance skirt

Hair requirements:

  • Hair must be sleek and out of your face. The sleek stick, water and a little gel or hairspray helps keep hair off your face. This requirement help students better focus and pay attention, it also for safety as hair can distract during turning or get caught in jewellery.

  • We allow the following hair styles for class, a bun, plait/plaits, & braids. You are welcome to do these in different styles i.e low bun, or two plaits. But your hair must look neat for class - to help you hold yourself like a dancer, for safety, to show respect to your teacher and the studio, to help show you are a team player and to continue the values and traditions of dancing.

  • RAD Ballet students must wear a very neat and tidy bun to class.

  • Strong elastics are advised, thin elastics usually do not hold the hair in place which leads to students spending a lot of time fixing their hair instead of participating.

  • We advise that students keep a spare brush, elastics and sleek stick in their bag throughout the year, this will really help when you are in a rush.
